Choosing Your Trip

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN JOIN A TOUR?

Day tours can be up to 40 people. Most multi-day tours are limited to 18-22 people, plus your guide and driver.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT REGARDING ACCESSIBILITY?

Because some mobility is required, Churchill is not as accessible to wheelchair users as other tourism destinations. Few buildings have wheelchair ramps and transfer vehicles lack lifts. Boarding and disembarking from boats and planes require the use of staircases, steps, ladders and/or ramps. Accessing the Tundra Buggy requires going up 12 steps.  

WHAT IS A "SINGLE SUPPLEMENT"?

Tour prices are based on double occupancy. If you are travelling alone and would like us to arrange a suitable roommate for you on the trip, we will make every effort to do so. If a roommate is not available, or you wish single accommodations (where available), we must charge a Single Supplement that reflects additional costs we incur for a singly occupied room. CAN I BOOK EXTRA NIGHTS OF HOTEL ACCOMMODATION BEFORE OR AFTER MY TOUR?

Your adventure includes overnight stays in the Departure City from which your tour will depart, before and after your Churchill trip. We are happy to help you extend your stay in the Departure City from which your tour departs. Please contact one of our Adventure Planners for further details.

CAN YOU PROVIDE ME WITH A LIST OF THE HOTELS WE WILL BE STAYING AT?

In Churchill, we use three different hotel properties: the Tundra Inn, the Polar Inn and the Aurora Inn. All properties are clean and comfortable, include basic amenities and have private washrooms. Rooms are typically furnished with two queen or two double beds. We cannot guarantee specific hotel preferences.

WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?

We understand that travel plans change. Our True North Assurance means that you can book your trip with confidence and peace of mind that your trip deposit is safe with us! In the event you must cancel your trip, the full amount of your initial deposit is eligible for transfer or to remain on file for an unlimited time as a credit for future use. CAN I JOIN A TOUR LATE OR LEAVE THE TOUR EARLY?

We must adhere to a tight schedule, so we are unable to offer special arrangements for late arrivals or early departures from our tours. No partial refunds or credits will be given for services not used.

WHAT ARE THE AGE RESTRICTIONS ON YOUR TOURS?

We do not have a specific policy as it relates to age requirements for joining our tours; however, there are a few things we like to emphasize to our clients. We ask that you keep in mind that our departures can involve long days, and depending on the age of the participant (as well as their interest and concentration level), these days may be too long for them to enjoy. For families with young children, you may want to check out our Family Learning Adventures, which were specially designed with younger children in mind.

DO YOUR TOURS INCLUDE INTERNATIONAL AIRFARE?

No. All of our adventures start and end in one of two departure cities:

  • Winnipeg, Manitoba
  • Calgary, Alberta

WHO ARE MY TRAVELING COMPANIONS?

Frontiers North welcomes visitors from all over the world representing a diverse spectrum of cultures, and we appreciate the opportunity to share Canada's North with them. Our guests have told us that this is one of their favourite aspects of travelling with us, and that they have made many new friends, some from quite different cultures, as a result of their adventure with us!

WHAT ARE ENTRY REQUIREMENTS FOR CANADA?

All international travellers arriving into Canada from any international point of origin must adhere to Canada’s requirements to enter the country. They must also adhere to any testing and isolating requirements. Please click on the links above for more information.

DO I REQUIRE A TRAVEL VISA TO VISIT CANADA?

Most of our travellers only require a valid passport. To find out if you need a visa or Electronic Travel Authorization, we recommend using the helpful resource found here.What should I pack?

Each season in Churchill has different highlights and weather conditions which also means different packing lists. Before you make your journey to Canada's North, be sure to check out our handy packing tips by selecting the appropriate season below:

Where is my itinerary?

To access your itinerary, all travellers must have completed their registration form and waiver, which is located on their registration link and may be obtained by clicking the compass icon.

I have special dietary requirements – will they be catered for?

Dietary restrictions can be accommodated if they are noted on the guest registration at least 120 days prior to your departure date.

Is tipping included and if not, how much should I budget?

As of 2024 gratuities are included in the price of your trip. Should you wish, you are still able to provide additional gratuities to any individual you interact with. 

Do you have a currency information, is there a bank in Churchill?

There is an RBC (Royal Bank of Canada) in Churchill, open Monday through Friday, excluding holidays. We recommend bringing Canadian currency prior to arriving in Churchill to avoid any complications on your trip. 

Do I need travel insurance?

Travel in Canada’s North is not like other parts of the world. You will be travelling to a remote destination. Comprehensive Travel Insurance coverage is mandatory. See our full Booking Terms and Conditions.

What happens if there is an emergency and I need to leave early?

Frontiers North will do everything in their best effort to assist any guests that need to leave because of an emergency. Specifics to early departures due to emergency should be outlined in your travel insurance.

Payment

What type of payment do you accept?

All deposits and payments can be made with Visa, MasterCard or AMEX securely over the phone or via email. 

Do you offer payment installments?

Do you offer gift cards?

Yes we do! Our e-gift cards can be used towards any Frontiers North-operated trip, at the Tundra Pub or Fifty Eight North – Home of the Tundra Buggy® gift shop. Get your e-gift card here.

Do you need full payment when we book or do you just take a deposit?

A non-refundable deposit of $750 CAD per person is due at time of booking, with payment due in full 120 days prior to departure. See our full booking terms and conditions for more info.

What is your cancelation policy?

It depends on the trip you are booked on. Please visit our Terms and Conditions page.
