Reconciliation

We are committed to amplifying Indigenous voices

Reconciliation is a journey, and it requires both learning and unlearning. At Frontiers North, this means continually taking action as partners, and reflecting on how we can be better allies, both as individuals and as an organization.

When our guests engage with Indigenous-led components of their adventure, we hope that they leave with a deeper understanding and respect for the rich cultural history and present-day realities of the Indigenous peoples in Churchill.

Authentic Messengers

Frontiers North Adventures is committed to working with Indigenous-owned and operated partners. We believe that it is our responsibility to partner with Indigenous companies to connect our guests with Authentic Messengers and give them space to share their experiences.

Wapusk Adventures

Wapusk Adventures, founded by Dave Daley in 2001, is an Indigenous-owned experience in Churchill. What began with ten dogs has grown into a dog-yard facility with over 40 sled dogs in the boreal forest. Guests experience the “I-did-a-mile” sled track and an immersive presentation on the heritage of the Red River Métis Nation.

Turtle Village

Turtle Village, located in Riding Mountain National Park, offers visitors a meaningful connection to Anishinaabe culture. They provide guests the opportunity to take part in hands-on traditional activities—like making bannock over an open fire—while learning about Anishinaabe history and culture.
