Awards and Accolades

Presented during the annual IMPACT conference, the awards recognize individuals and organizations who lead and inspire others to foster positive impacts for communities, our economy, and the environment.

Frontiers North Adventures founders, Lynda and Merv Gunter, received the 2014 Canadian Tourism Lifetime Achievement Award. The couple founded Frontiers North Adventures in 1987, growing the company into an internationally-recognized eco-tourism operation focused on travel in Canada’s North.

We were presented with Travel Manitoba's 2014 Partnership Award, which recognizes our collaboration with Polar Bears International to bring Google Street View to the Polar Bear Capital of the World.

Polar Bears International presented this award in recognition of our conservation efforts for polar bears and our continued support of their organization.

For commitment to socially, economically and environmentally responsible practices.

Our Frontiers North Tundra Buggy Adventure was selected to help launch the Signature Experience Collection in 2011 by the Canadian Tourism Commission, recognizing it as a quintessential Canadian travel experience.

We were presented this award for best practices in tourism, community participation and work with interaction of the physical, cultural and social environment.

For demonstrating an understanding of our impact on natural and cultural resources, as well as the regional economy, and for meeting the needs of visitors while protecting and enhancing opportunities for the future.

For outstanding contributions towards a better understanding and appreciation of the natural world and the animals that live within it.

For making an outstanding contribution to the practice and promotion of sustainable tourism in Canada.

The Winnipeg Airports Authority Award of Distinction recognizes a business or organization reflecting exceptional leadership in Manitoba’s tourism industry. Through their actions they help Manitoba realize distinction as a high quality tourism destination.
