Role Overview

Frontiers North is looking for a candidate that is outgoing, friendly and engaging to join our team as a Gear Rental Attendant. This position is responsible for the daily rental operations of Frontiers North’s Gear Rental Program. Many of our guests come from a warmer climate and may not own appropriate attire, or may not want to transport their personal cold weather attire. Our gear rental program prepares our guests with the best gear available for their adventure.

As a Gear Rental Attendant, you will:

  • Take gear reservations
  • Prepare outgoing and incoming equipment orders
  • Clean and maintain incoming equipment
  • Organize and arrange the repair of Gear Rental items
  • Demonstrate effective decision-making and critical thinking skills to ensure superior customer service for our guests

You bring:

  • Customer service expertise
  • Retail experience
  • Demonstrated money management and accountability skills
  • Experience in hospitality and tourism environments
  • Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Experience with tracking inventory as well as Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Experience in conflict resolution and ability to manage guest expectations
  • Willingness to “go the extra mile” to ensure guests have the best possible experience
  • General knowledge of Canada Goose and Baffin Boots winter wear
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other staff over the phone, email and online
  • Must have a reliable means of transportation to and from work

Working conditions:

  • Location: Four Points by Sheraton at the Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport
  • Seasonal, averaging eight to ten weeks
  • Evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Three/four hours per day (October-November)
