Role Overview

Frontiers North Adventures is seeking a seasonal full time Heavy Duty Mechanic to work at our Churchill, Manitoba location. 

We are looking for a heavy duty mechanic that has a strong customer service focus, enjoys problem solving, and contributes to the overall vision of the company.

As this is a seasonal role, we are open to candidates that are available to work a portion of the June to November season. Please include your availability in your resume or cover letter.

As the Heavy Duty Mechanic, you will:

  • Repair, troubleshoot, adjust, overhaul and maintain mobile heavy-duty equipment used on site which include Tundra Buggies, loaders, and other heavy construction equipment
  • Check for proper performance and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
  • Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine extent of repair required
  • Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts, components or systems, using hand and power tools
  • Test repaired equipment for proper performance
  • Clean, lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on equipment
  • Service attachments and working tools

You bring:

  • Heavy duty mechanic experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Strong problem solving in critical situations
  • Troubleshooting ability and quick thinking skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Health and safety focus
  • ​Solid organizational skills with ability to adapt to a wide range of tasks

Working conditions:

  • Ability to work in and adapt to harsh winter climates.
  • Physically fit and able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Open to changing work schedule and working overtime
  • Adaptability to community living and shared accommodations
  • Can work indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Sense of adventure and a can-do attitude
