Adventure Planner

The Adventure Planner is the initial point of contact for the sale of Frontiers North Adventures products. He/she builds and retains guest relationships by selling tour packages to people all over the world.  Working with other team members and specialists in the organization, the Adventure Planner is responsible for increasing sales and contributing positively to Frontiers North’s profitability by providing excellent customer service, verifying and ensuring tours are booked and following-up on referrals.

Key Accountabilities:

  • As the primary contact for customers and guests contacting Frontiers North, this position identifies existing and potential guest needs, selling a full range of products and services offered by the company
  • Assist customers in planning their adventures and selecting and customizing tours to suit their interests and requirements.
  • Close individual sales, confirm tour bookings and provide customer follow up.
  • Answer all inquiries and follow-up with clients after initial contact with the office.
  • Provide prospective guests with relevant marketing material.
  •  Pro-actively work to retain and expand existing guest relationships, while pursuing new sources of business.
  • On occasion, attend consumer marketing shows.
  • Play a role in development of tactics to attain Frontiers North’s sales goals.
  • Take an active role in team efforts to attain sales goals.
  • Meet regularly with the Manager, Sales and Guest Relations and other sales team members to review sales goals and business development.
  • Responsible for tracking and reporting personal sales goals and results.
  • Take responsibility for client and guest problems and resolve them when possible, referring more complex problems to the appropriate person.

Requirements:

  • Two years of related work experience in customer service or sales preferably in the hospitality or tourism industry.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Great organizational skills.
  • Intermediate computer skills (email, word processing, databases).
  • Good with people.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Post secondary education in the area of Business Administration, Tourism, Marketing or equivalent plus two years of related work experience in customer service or sales.
  • Second language is considered an asset.
