Financial Analyst

You are a self-motivated team player who is passionate about conducting life and business in a sustainable manner. As a numbers expert, your ability to decipher the story that financial data can tell - paired with your critical eye for the smallest of details – will make you an invaluable member of our team.

You have a keen understanding of market trends and variables, specifically in the tourism sector. And while we won’t expect you to perfectly predict our financial future; we’ll expect you to come close.

As the Financial Analyst, you are critical to the sustainability and growth of Frontiers North Adventures. Reporting to the Controller, you are accountable for the accurate preparation, maintenance and generation of management financial reports, financial analysis, and financial modeling.  

You will analyze current financial performance, develop and improve predictive financial models, recommend process improvements and help maximize efficiencies.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Guides and is ultimately responsible for the management and preparation of management level financial reports, and overall financial risk management systems of FNA
  • Guides and is ultimately responsible for developing management level financial reports and dashboards for multiple departments
  • Responsible for developing a strong understanding of processes and key operational drivers
  • Responsible for developing and testing complex financial models
  • Develops and recommends changes to policies and procedures in the areas of administration and accounting; monitors accounting policies and standards, and is ultimately responsible for developing policies to improve processes
  • Assists in developing and implementing annual budgets, quarterly forecasting, cash flow forecasting and long-term financial forecasting
  • Guides and is ultimately responsible for the long-range financial forecasting of FNA and developing strategies and plans to meet FNA’s short and long-term financial requirements
  • Develops sound pricing strategies and cost models using data and information from multiple internal and external sources
  • Monitors economic and market changes, and recommends any necessary precautionary measures to minimize exposure for FNA
  • Understands, respects, and supports FNA’s commitment to corporate social responsibility.

Competencies:

  • You are a strategic thinker with strong interpersonal and problem solving skills. You understand and manage risk effectively. You will have several years of relevant financial experience, preferably from working within tourism or transportation industries, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • You will have already obtained or are working towards achieving a recognized accounting designation (CA, CMA, CGA, CPA) and/or a post-graduate degree in business or finance.
