Celebrating International Polar Bear Day

February 27th is International Polar Bear Day, a day of action held by Polar Bears International to encourage sustainable living in the efforts to save polar bear habitat.

As a northern adventure company that is responsible for bringing thousands of guests to Churchill each year, we think about polar bears all year round: we participate in studies that further polar bear research and conservation; we adapt our business practices to operate in a sustainable manner; we combine travel and education in a way that ensures our guests go home with a deeper understanding of the wildlife and landscapes of the north; and we help to share polar bears with the world through Google Streetview and the Polar Bear Cam

International Polar Bear Day isn't much different for us - we're still thinking about polar bears - but it is a day that reminds us that even as individuals we can commit to actions that will make a positive impact in the effort to create a sustainable earth. And it gives us a chance to share with you some ideas for how you can make small changes that can create positive results.

So, how can you celebrate International Polar Bear Day this February 27th?
